St Teresa’s Year 7 and 8 Camp

St Teresas has thrown themselves right into term two, starting with the year seven and eight camp. Staying at the Whakarongotai Marae in Waikanae we learnt many things about the Marae and had an amazing experience.

On the first day of camp, we travelled over Transmission Gully to spend some of the afternoon at the Kapiti pool, where there was an awesome hydroslide!

After that, we headed to the Marae, where we were welcomed on with a traditional powhiri. Spending the rest of the afternoon hanging out and having some free time.

Day 2 brought sunshine, as well as a bushwalk! The majestic trees towered above us as we hiked higher and higher. When we got back to the Marae we went to different stations such as drawing statues around the Marae, sports on the grass, kapa haka and orienteering. At the end of the day when it went dark we played many rounds of spotlight!

With camp coming to its end the year 8 girls went on an experience day at St. Mary's, and the rest of the group went to a playground and at the end of the day, everyone went home.

Thank you so much for the amazing teachers and staff members for taking us on camp, it was an unforgettable experience!
